For those of you who have a soft spot for this place here is much of what I saw this morning: 269 Pink-eared Duck 28 Freckled Duck 500+ Plumed Whistle duck 12 Wandering “ 12 Hardhead Duck 4 Pacific Black Duck 18 Grey Teal ~ 50 Coot 6 Royal Spoonbill 6 Black-winged Stilt 2 Intermediate Egret 1 Great “ 3 Red-kneed Dotterel 6 Glossy Ibis 1 Pelican 2 Darter 3 Little Black Cormorant The numbers of Pink-eared and Freckled Duck are surprisingly high and the Black Ducks low. There were two Lathams Snipe there two days ago a rail/crake of some kind called once from the long grass near the mud but I could not recognize it.
