An ever-hungry juvenile Channel-billed Cuckoo is presently being attended by its foster parent, a Pied Currawong, in my Sunshine Coast garden. The curious thing is that the head of the currawong is bald, with the area of baldness coinciding with the extent of the bird's head that disappears into the mouth of the cuckoo at feeding time. So, is the currawong losing feathers due to cuckoo-feeding? http://tinyurl.com/pr7alus Greg Roberts _______________________________________________ Birding-Aus mailing list To change settings or unsubscribe visit: http://birding-aus.org/mailman/listinfo/birding-aus_birding-aus.org |
