Singing Honeyeater
Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve, Gungahlin
A medium-sized honeyeater flew in from the northwest and alighted on the top of a large dead tree. Pale below with grey streaking and a black stripe from the base of the bill through the eye to the nape, this was clearly not one of the usual locally-occurring species. On closer approach, the apple-green remiges and yellow streak below the black eye stripe became apparent. The bird flew high and circled the area but disappeared to the southeast. I was unable to relocate it.
