A recent visit to the Upper Burnett Valley in south-east Queensland got me
thinking about the now extinct Paradise Parrot. The last authentic records
of this species come from the Burnett Valley.

I was motivated to put together a bit of a narrative based on accounts from
Cyril Jerrard, who took the only known images of Paradise Parrots in the
wild, and other sources.
