Following Roger Jaensch's Birdline report of Regent H/E on 24/10 we visited
Cove Rd in the late morning. After a relatively brief search in the area
designated by Roger, a single Regent H/E was located , initially by call, at
the top of a flowering euc. outside the entrance to 650 Cove Rd at 1145am. The
bird remained feeding in the canopy until chased-off by Noisy Miners, and later
again by Torresian Crows. However it returned twice after absences of 10 or
more minutes, I suspect because this is the only euc.currently in blossom in
this small patch orf roadside vegetation. The favoured tree is the large euc.to
the left of the entrance to 650. Viewing conditions were not ideal with a dull,
cloudy sky and a flighty bird but good views were ultimately obtained.
