Hi all,

Just to let you know that some environmental water is being used at present
to fill some dry wetlands in the Kerang area.

McDonalds swamp near Cohuna is currently being filled, as is Hirds swamp.
Both these wetlands provide great habitat for birds. Will probably take a
while for them to kick into gear, but they will certainly be worth visiting
as the summer progresses.

Also Lake Leaghur near Boort has received environmental water. Round Lake
near Lake Boga is good as ever, with lots of Musk Duck there at present,
including displaying males.

Would be great to have some birders visit the area, and if you can, let the
locals know why you are there spending money in their town, for bird
watching, and not for hunting!

Cheers,

Simon Starr
