Interestingly, there have been Oriental Plovers in the Central Coast Wetlands,
Tuggerah (NSW), on Bribie Island (SE-QLD), Alice Springs & Darwin (NT) and one
in New Zealand! In addition Michael Rutkowski saw two at Baker's Lagoon
Wilberforce/Richmond in the Hawkesbury (NSW). Here Michael's post to Eremaea
that I received and moderated today:
>"Slow in posting as I wanted to confirm identification. Thanks to those on
>Feathers and Photos for your help. NOTE. Lots of Red-bellied Black Snakes so
>take care in the long grass. Pair of Oriental Plovers on mud flats 20 m from
>water. Hard to see, same colour as background, walked almost on top of them
>before seeing them. Also present Pacific Golden Plover (1), Sharp-tailed
>Sandpiper (6) and Red-necked Stint (1). [Moderator's note (NH): Interestingly,
