Thanks Laurie an interesting paper - though it would (could) not apply to any of the species (such as the Short-tailed Shearwater) where the adults leave on migration two weeks ahead of the fledglings. Species that have to learn over a five year period would be more vulnerable to extinction I would think - when numbers get low. Cheers Mike Tarburton |
