Grey Falcon
Cooktown Crossing, W of Mt. Carbine., Queensland
30-40 Black Kites were feeding on insects above the Mitchell River to the height of 120 metres. Watched them for half hour. A Grey Falcon then flew through flock as if to see what they were feeding on. A Black Kite dived at the falcon from above and pursued it out of sight away from the area. The falcon returned within a short time and the same strategy ensued.
