A few records to the growing list of recent Flock Bronzewing sightings:-

18/08/13 45km North of Marree on Birdsville Track - 6x drinking at the
bore at 8.30 am (towards the south and west of the range indicated in most
Aus Fieldguides and HANZAB)

19/08/13 20km North of Mungerannie on Birdsville Track - 2x flushed
from side of road at 10.00 am

21/08/13 8km East of Moomba on Strzelecki Track - 13 x flyover at 8.30 am

Perhaps an interesting study project for a University student or other
interested person would be "The fall and (apparent) rise of Flock Bronzewing
in Australia" . Their fall, including their eruptive and dispersive nature,
is partly covered in HANZAB which indicates:-

. millions at Bedourie in 1924

. 50,000 SE of Bedourie in 1972

. secure in 1972 but previously thought close to extinction
