Yes, Steve & Laurie
We have been hearing and seeing Bee Eaters on a regular basis across the
greater Brisbane area during the winter. The question I have is - are
these 'resident' birds or birds from further south that have 'migrated
north' to SE Qld while 'our' summer birds have moved further north? I am
of the uneducated opinion that this is a common occurrence on the east
coast involving other species as well, for example: Brown Honeyeater
which seem to be about in plague proportions at times. We all know about
the 'Tasmanian' Silvereyes that arrive her in Winter - if they do it,
I'm sure other species move in similar fashion possibly leading us to
believe we have 'resident' birds?
