Sun 23 Jun White-necked Heron Premaydena, Tasman Peninsula
Two individuals, associating with cattle egrets in roadside paddock.

White-necked Heron Copping
Solitary bird in paddock on left of highway as approaching Copping from west. (The farmer has it for sale, or maybe that's the paddock...) The neighbouring paddock had numerous White-faced Herons, but none dared cross the fence into the stranger's territory. Foreneck had dark spots. Plummy plumes visible.
Brian Nolan

Highlights from yesterday's pelagic from Eaglehawk Neck: a Northern Royal Albatross which hung around the boat for a good while (also a possible second bird closer in to the shelf) plus a brief fly-by from a Soft-plumaged Petrel. Also at least 4 (possibly 6) White-headed Petrels.
Paul Brooks and all aboard the Pauletta

White-necked Heron Copping
Roadside paddock just west of the town. White-necked Heron (1)
