Congratulations to Perry & Alma de Rebeira on being awarded OAMs in this year's Queen's Birthday Hons list for their contribution to Australian ornithology. West Australians, in particular, would know of their immense contributions to bird banding, educating children about natural history (birds in particular) and their management of the Eyre Bird Observatory. Both have been active in these areas for several decades, even though Perry has been recovering slowly from the effects of a severe stroke for the last 3 years. Anyway, awards that are well deserved.
