There's been a fair bit of discussion about various policy changes underway by the Liberal National Party Government in Queensland which have far-reaching consequences for environmental protection. Birds and other wildlife are seriously threatened by, among other things: the scrapping of tree-clearing restrictions, the opening up state forests for logging, the reviewing of various national park declarations, the opening up of national parks for grazing and the ditching of wild river declarations. I've attempted to summarise these concerns in a piece published this weekend by The Weekend Australian which I've now blogged and illustrated.
