Thank you to the 18 people who so kindly provided the most useful
information and advice on where and when to see puffins in the UK. I
actually had the desire to see these birds before I became a birder. We have
decided to go to Skomer in June, and have Anglesey as a back-up. The
clinchers were your photos, Bob Way, and the promise that puffins would run
over our feet, Rosemary Royle. We are going to Stoke-on-Trent, so Wales fits
well with that. We may additionally visit Scotland, but that is not definite
as yet.

 

Several of you advised that August would probably be too late. This did
sadden me, as I had hoped to fulfill another ambition, that was to see an
English Premier League football match, but these don't start until mid
August.
