Sorry to throw a wet blanket over this, but why would this not be an escaped 
bird? Attractive duck species are extremely commonly kept in captivity. It's a 
common issue when considering rare ducks which turn up in the UK, and 
especially in urban or suburban locations.
 
Just wouldn't want loads of people expending their hard earned cash if it turns 
out not to be a wild bird.
