The New Zealand Storm-petrel saga is a fascinating story. The ultimate heroes are those members of the New Zealand Wildlife Service who in the 1970's spent a lot of time in poor conditions over many years eliminating cats from Little Barrier Island, thus enabling the species to come back from the brink.
