Dear Anthony and other COG members Despite Anthony's seemingly well reasoned response, he is guilty of drawing a very Long Bow on this issue of Hunting.
To more cheerful details, I can report that the NSW Premier has quashed the idea of licensing Silencers. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-02-26/premier-rules-out-silencers-for-park-hunters/4540122?section=nsw Oh, by the way Anthony, a close re-reading of Mark's letter will reveal that it is the introduction of legal silencers which was being criticised. There are indeed "gun-toting criminals" out there. They are not necessarily the people who wish to hunt in National Parks (Mark did not suggest that). Anyone could have bought them, if the proposal had been approved. I personally think that safety of people in NSW National Parks is a legitimate issue on this forum, and I know many people think the same as I do.
