The Asian Dowitcher was still at Manly (Brisbane, SEQ) wader roost this
morning. 'To die for' views at much closer range than at Port of
Brisbane early in the year/late last year - assuming, as I am, that it
is the same bird.

For anyone who hasn't been to the roost since Oswald went through -
there is serious damage to the rock wall protecting the roost, it has
been breached in several places and at the (very) high tide this morning
the 'lower' pond was rapidly filled by the incoming seas to the point of
completely drowning the island. This caused the waders to evacuate to
the 'upper' pond.
We happened to be behind the upper roost as this occurred and got even
more crippling views of the AD at very close range when it arrived with
the Godwits.

Brilliant!
