Hi All An 8.00-13.30 seawatch off Pt Lookout in medium strength (15-20 knot) south easterlies on Sunday yielded just under 1000 Wedge-tailed, a few birds shy of 100 Short-tailed and 1 Buller's Shearwater (all estimates based on 15 minute counts conducted each hour) with a peak of 244 Wedgies passing between 11-12.00. 4 Pomarine and 6 Artic Skuas also passed by although 2 beautifully marked light phase Artics returned several times to put on spectacular performances as they hunted terns off the point. What's better than Shearwaters, Skuas, Pink Floyd on the iPod and crappy flask coffee? Nothing! Cheers -- Colin Reid So many birds, so little time...... -- http://www.fastmail.fm - The professional email service =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
