It is the long distance, migratory, nominate race of Asian Brown Flycatcher Muscicapa dauurica dauurica. All submissions to BARC have eliminated the forms resident in SE Asia now split. Note that there are now also records of this taxon from the Cocos (Keeling) Islands (2) and Browse Island north of the Kimberley in WA.
