Keith, I cannot remember the reference I was given to this occurring when I got very excited some 18 years ago about a honeyeater with yellow feet. Most nestlings loose the yellow soles at fledging but a few retain this and even have yellow feet (toes). I thought I had a new species when I saw a little brown honeyeater with bright yellow feet in the garden.
