Melbourne birders (or visitors) interested in close views of Red-necked
Avocets with the city buildings as a backdrop can visit the small remnant
pool on the right (north) side of Williamstown Rd west of Todd Rd (ie
opposite Webb Dock) in Port Melbourne - the pool is behind the cyclone wire
fence but very close to the road. There were six avocet there this morning,
in the company of about ten Black-winged Stilts.
