cycle paths along its verges, no obvious wetlands or swamp there, so

Pair still present 6:30-7:30 this morning. Initially alongside wall
in SE corner then in front of viewing platform on western bank. Also
1 night heron.

Grass Owl seen early morning. Lewin's Rail and King Quail both heard
and 1 of each seen. Also 4 Red-necked Avocets, 100+ Sharp-tailed
Sands, Red-kneed and Black-fronted Dotterels. Large nos of duck, a
few Black Swans and 100s of Black-winged (White-headed) Stilts.
