Published sightings for the week ending 16 Sep 2012.

Sun 16 Sep Latham's Snipe Goulds Lagoon
Flushed at 1730 from north-eastern end of main lagoon - settled on north-western side. Flushed again - flew around beyond cormorant perching eucalypt. Counted 40 hardheads this evening

Grey goshawks ( white morph) Nelson Rd Mt Nelson, bend 3
A pair of grey goshawks (white morph) seen in top of large conifer. Chased away by a very stroppy Forest Raven. One flew back and stayed in a tree for about 5 minutes.

About 30. Seems to be a bit unusual for this site.

Grey Petrel, Soft-plumaged Petrel, Sooty Albatross Eaglehawk Neck pelagic
A nice selection of birds seen on a Saturday pelagic off Eaglehawk Neck. Best were two sightings of Grey Petrel, a Sooty Albatross and 2 Soft-plumaged Petrels.

Fri 14 Sep Grey-backed Storm-Petrel (beachwashed), Swift Parrots Pirates Bay
A beachwashed Grey-backed Storm Petrel at the Jetty end of Pirates Bay. Also bout 10 Swift Parrots feeding on flowering eucalypts in 'Doo-town' about 500 m back from the Blowholes carpark.

Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike. Two birds in front of Jackman & McRoss early in the morning. My first sighting of the summer.

Single bird perched in tree with 3 Great Cormorants. My first sighting of this sp in Tas in 35y obs.

Single bird. This sp seen or heard only three times in 15y of obs in Sisters Beach and surrounding Rocky Cape Nat Park.
