Hi Peter Last Tuesday National Parks in their wisdom decided to perform a back burning exercise in the Buderoo National park, which is adjacent to Barren grounds. The hazard reduction was started across the road from my place and was going well until the winds picked up and they lost control. The mountain was on bushfire alert, and we had helicopters with water buckets circling overhead from Tuesday evening through to Thursday midday. Barren grounds was not affected but was closed, and was still closed to the public yesterday. All is OK now and I assume the Reserve will be open soon Cheers Jim =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
