I have seen Buff-banded Rails on the lawn at Killara Station (NSW) two mornings running at roughly 8.15 a.m. - yesterday one pursuing another to and fro, followed by the appearance of a third bird, and today two feeding nonchalantly out in the open. This was all in the few minutes I waited for my train to work both days.
