I have been unable to access the pictures but I would suggest this scenario: Falcon attacks roosting Frogmouth at high speed. Kills Frogmouth. Falcon then strikes against another branch of the tree with fatal results.A young Collared Sparrowhawk dashed into a branch and was killed some years ago in our back creek flat. No marks on the body. No sign of prey - perhaps it dodged.
