A report from Pam Jones of 2 Barn Swallows on Cocos on 21 July has raised the question of whether these are early spring arrivals (as I think) or over-wintering birds. Does anyone know of any records of Barn Swallows overwintering in Australia or the southern hemisphere for that matter? HANZAB has none.
