Sat 11 Aug Spotted Harrier Townsville Town Common Conservation Park
Spotted Harrier flew low and close across start of road to Bald Rock; clear demarcated facial disk, contrasting underwing, lacked any white on rump and banded tail all noted.

Tue 7 Aug White-browed Crake Warri Park, Port Douglas
This bird reported in July by Doug Herrington was still at the lagoon this morning. Good views.

Sun 5 Aug Northern Mallard Horseshoe Lagoon, Giru 1' Cell
Northern Mallard (2) Mallard X with larger than normal white collar, chestnut flanks, darkish eye and bill. Would appreciate comments on their pedigree. Photo: Norm Canton Good numbers of Cotton Pygmy-geese also.
