This is a draft of new regulations governing game hunting in Victoria. Among
several proposals is that a new, short-term hunting licence for international
tourists be issued. In the case of duck shooting, applicants will not be
required to pass the Waterfowl Identification Test.
It is also proposed that juniors be exempt from paying game licence fees, and
that the season to hunt red deer be extended to the whole year - from the
current two-month season.
These are retrograde steps which we should view with alarm. Public submissions
will be accepted until 20 August.
See link for further details.
