Here's one incident from the last weekend of the duck shooting season in June 
last year. A rescuer, Tony Murphy, picked up a wounded duck to take it to a vet 
for treatment. The hunter didn't attempt to retreive it.
The duck died. Tony was charged by a wildlife officer with failing to kill a 
wounded duck. Media today included:
