Tawny Frogmouth
Riverway Complex (Thuringowa Central)
6 x Tawny Frogmouths roosting in a tree spreading over the busy children's playground area of the Riverway Complex on Sunday afternoon. There appeared to be 2 adult-sized birds, with the other 4 of much smaller appearance. One of the smaller birds was found at the base of the tree, so one brave member of my family picked it up and placed it back onto a lower limb and out of harm's way.
