On Friday night, ABC TV in Tasmania screened the following items - the first on 7.30 state edition, the second on the 7 o'clock news. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-02-04/critically-endangered-parrot-closer-to-extinction/3811524 http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-02-03/extinction-threatens-orange-bellied-parrots/3811130 It's important to keep some perspective on this. Breeding is taking place and no juveniles will be taken into the captive flock, as they were last year. A different spin on this news could actually be 'Breeding success gives hope for critically endangered birds'. =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
