Sorry I used bad wording there. Better said the Sunbird has its left wing
shown with the feather layering upside down........
Yes me too. I thought it a bit underwhelming too. My immediate reaction was
it is as good a morph of some versions of the Emu logo of RAOU / BA and done
in blue to retain some link to the Superb Fairy-wren of BOCA. These being
two ends of the bird size range between them it would be hard to be
specific. I suspect on good reason there was a strong intent not to be an
Emu, as this is a merge of two organisation, originally requested by BOCA,
not a takeover. But I suppose as a pictograph it is sort of cute.
Then again the QOS has for decades has its emblem a picture of a Sunbird
with two right wings (no left wing). I tried to change that 32 years ago but
it didn't catch on.

Subject: New Bird Life logo
I received a letter yesterday from Birdlife Australia showcasing the new
logo. I have no idea what it is but I think I can see a waterbird of some
description. I assume that considerable time has gone into considering,
consulting and designing something new, but I am underwhelmed. I think this
is a retrograde step from the previous Emus of BA. I believe this should
have been put to a vote of the membership. Regards Alastair
