Was sitting on the small patch of grass that's between the Mayne Art Gallery and the Bioscience library building at the University of Qld this afternoon (recovering from being frozen by over-air-conditioning in our newly renovated building) when a buff-banded rail came right out into the open onto the grass next to us. It looped about us and went back into the dense ornamental shrubbery. Its partner was briefly seen but scampered back into cover with accompanying alarm calls. I did manage to get this brief (1 min) video of the rail on the grass with my iPhone (so not great quality); http://youtu.be/NaVPYNWFe4E -- http://inlustre.net/ =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
