Hi All
I received this email from Indigenous Hawai¹ian elder, Leilehua Yuen, an
authority on royalty, ritual, ancient hula, and traditional relationships to
wildlife. Leilehua is an expert on fauna and flora of the Big Island, and
conducts EarthFoot's Hawaiian People & Their Ecosystem program
<http://www.earthfoot.org/guides/yuen.htm> (for those not in the know
Earthfoot is a respected American website for natural history and cultural
tourism). Leilehua introduced me to the birds and other fauna, and flora,
and geology, of the Big Island when I was there in 2009, all within a
cultural context. Her depth and breadth of knowledge is amazing.

Ah, dear Big Sis - any chance of our scaring up a grant for me to teach how
to format traditional storytelling for the eco-tourist? I can see: a
curriculum based on exploring the duality of science/tradition via finding
science encoded in traditional stories.
