There's been a couple of reports of Wandering Whistling-Duck in sunny Victoria
this year. A single bird seen at Nerrin Nerrin station (near Lake Bolac)
20/1/2011, and three birds seen in a brackish swamp adjacent to the road that
accesses the Snowy River estuary at Corringle (south of Orbost) 10/06/2011. Not
quite the numbers seen in the Clarence Valley and Sunshine Coast, but very good
records for Victoria.

Cheers,

Tim Dolby

We currently have a flock of over 60 Wandering Whistling-Ducks in the
Clarence Valley, North Coast NSW. While up to 1,500 Plumed Whistling-Ducks
have been recorded in our area this is the largest number of Wanderers that
I have recorded. Haven't they turned up in Victoria and Tasmania as well?
