Date: Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Location: Price Saltfields

Variegated Fairy-wren (Malurus lamberti) (5) not listed on Birdpedia or 
Birddata lists

Australian Spotted Crake (Porzana fluminea) (1) uncommon visitor to Price

Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) (2) one seen on track near brine tanks -  other in 
flight

Fairy Tern (Sterna nereis) (8) only 8 seen versus over 400 seen in last April

Date: Saturday, November 26, 2011

Location: Warnes's Scrub

Cockatiel (Nymphicus hollandicus) (13) Not an uncommom sighting, but have never 
seen so many in our scrub before. Also made a good photo.

Tawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides) (2) Startled a pair from their daytime 
roosting branch. Unusual that they should take flight during the day.

Location: Robe. The Long Beach adjacent to The Esplanade.

Hooded Plover (Thinornis rubricollis) (3) Three birds together.  All had adult 
plumage.

Location: Hart Rd Wetland Aldinga

White-necked Heron (Ardea pacifica) (1) 

Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) (3) 

Musk Duck (Biziura lobata) (1) 

Hopefully this wetland will attract more species in future.

Location: Banrock Station, Riverland,SA

Latham's Snipe (Gallinago hardwickii) (1) One cooperative bird, first flushed, 
then seen roosting and foraging, giving us plenty of time to get some nice 
photographs.

Location: Laratinga Wetlands, Mount Barker.

Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) (1) Flushed from Swale, between Ponds 7 and 
8. Shortly afterwards what was assumed to be the same bird was seen riding a 
thermal over the Martindale Estate and drifting north.
