Sun 20 Nov Australian Painted Snipe Brady Rd/Kennedy Hwy, S of Biboohra
One male Painted Snipe on a small shallow dam. Please note it has a broken leg so try not to disturb it.

Topknot Pigeon (1); Budgerigar (12) Lake Ross - Dam Levee Bank
Solitary Topknot Pigeon flew overhead West to East (Seen firstly by Shane Crees). Small flock of Budgerigar (about 12) flew over over the levee bank from South to North. TRBOC outing (per Len Ezzy)

Metallic Starling Kirwan, suburb of Townsville
Single bird on top of a palm spike calling at 5.25am. Viewed in first light with binoculars from 20 m. Call was checked against D Stewart recording in Morcombe.

Bush-hen (1) good views. Near Barramudi lagoon Pacific Golden Plover (1) 1st viewpoint, still lots of black on front. Latham's Snipe (2) freshwater hide Australian Pratincole (4) 2cnd viewpoint

Red-backed Button-quail Ross River Bush Gardens, Townsville
Red-backed Button-quail (1) male on track near junction of woodland section and the anabranch. Watched for several minutes before she moved into the anabranch vegetation. This is not far as the crow flies from the Annandale sightings a week ago.

Wed 16 Nov Grey Wagtail Lake Mitchell (Quaids Dam)
Grey Wagtail (1) non breeding similar to Yellow Wagtail but with pinkish legs. In grass and reeds on northern side of causeway road.

Mon 14 Nov Black Bittern Mount Louisa (suburb of Townsville)
5:40am today on our drive to work. 1x Black Bittern flushed from the reeds/cumbungie-filled road-side open-drain beside Mather Street between Woolcock and Carroll Streets. It flew directly over the car heading east towards Louisa Creek.

7 birds sitting quietly on water, maybe 1st report from Lakefield? Moderator Note: There has been at least one record from Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park previously.

Thu 10 Nov Grey Wagtail Mt. Hypipamee - Dinner falls
Seen by several observers including Mark Clayton and visiting Swedish birder who was very familiar with the species.

Eastern Yellow Wagtail Small Wetland Approx 4 km North of Mareeba Near Corner of Brady Road and Mt Molloy Rd
One Non Breeding adult feeding on short green vegetation at rear of this small drying wetland.
