Sun 6 Nov Sharp-tailed Sandpiper Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant
14 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers - unusually large number. Also 4 Pink-eared Duck.

1 Brush Bronzewing, but heard only, unfortunately.

Dollarbird Mt Pleasant
A single Dollarbird sitting on the high voltage power lines that cross over the road to the summit of Mt Pleasant.

Rainbow Bee-Eater Mt Pleasant
A pair of Bee-Eaters sitting on the power lines above the obstacle course just to the east of the summit road.

Sat 5 Nov Rainbow Bee-eater Coree, Uriarra Road/Mountain Creek Road junction
1 Rainbow Bee-eater. Also 1 at Uriarra Dam just up the road.

Brush Cuckoo Blundell's Creek and Warks Roads
1 Brush Cuckoo was the highlight of a beautiful morning in Warks Road. Neither sight nor sound of my target, Cicadabird, however. Very close views of a Pilotbird in response to pishing.

Eurasian Coot Fassifern Pond, West Macgregor
Observed a Eurasian Coot with three small chicks on Fassifern Pond early this morning. I note that the COG site has them as breeding "very occasionally". Guess this is one of those occasions.

1 male Australian Painted Snipe observed this morning as were 9 Cattle Egret and 2 Royal Spoonbill.

1 Buff-banded Rail flushed next to the dam.

White-browed Woodswallows Wybalena Grove Cook
A flock of at least 30 Woodswallows, high over Wybalena Grove Cook at 17.35. The few I could identify were White-browed. Heading slowly north-west.

Mon 31 Oct White fronted Chats Uriarra Road ( S E)
The pair of White fronted Chats on the Uriarra Rd might be a nesting pair. The female was carrying a grass stork while I was photographing them.

Sun 30 Oct Australian Painted Snipe Kelly's Swamp Jerrabomberra Wetlands
Frank Antram reported a sighting of a pair of Painted Snipes on Sunday 30th October. I was there looking for photo opportunities and managed to snap the Snipes being "disturbed" by one of the many White Ibises around the area that afternoon. Here is a link to these shots.;

I got a Little Grassbird and Spotted Crake at the little pond behind the dog training area on Rowland Rees Crescent near the Tuggeranong Town Centre.

Thu 27 Oct White fronted Chat PCS Stromlo Depot, Cotter Road WESTON
There were two birds interested in rank grass beside the auto-gate to the complex. The complex is totally surrounded by roads, infrastructure and suburban development at present and some 2km from the chats more usual local area of Stromlo Park. Time 10.30 hrs
