Hi AllI've just seen a report on Eremaea of 4 Painted Snipe at Ash Island, seen yesterday (2 November). I'm heading up that way tomorrow (Friday) en route to Hawks Nest. I am keen to have my 7th attempt at dipping on these birds, so if anybody tries for them today (Thursday) can they advise success or failure. I'll probably have a go anyway, but would be interesting to know if they were still there today too. More widely, what is the state of play on access to the island right now? The sighting was Cabbage Tree Rd (so only just over the bridge) but how far in can one get now?
