Hi all, Looks like there is a feral population of Rose-ringed Parakeets ("Indian Ringnecks") in Albion Park Rail, NSW. We kept hearing the distinctive calls of this species and saw several birds flying around. Moreover, we observed a male and a female checking out a nesting cavity. Does anyone have information on this population? Has anyone reported them? As discussed previously, this species is very invasive with thousands of birds in the UK, Spain, France, Belgium,Netherlands, Germany, South Africa, USA and Japan. Hopefully, they don't settle here. Cheers, Nikolas ---------------- Nikolas Haass Sydney, NSW =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
