Earthcare St Kilda still needs 15 more people to join the penguin guide team for season 2011-12. A commitment of once a fortnight is required but this can possibly be negotiated. This year, visitors will be admitted via a gate, so that overcrowding on the breakwater won't recur. Guides talk about the penguins' habits and life cycle with a wide range of people, including overseas visitors. Training takes place this Sunday afternoon 2/10 in St Kilda. Please consider volunteering; Melbourne's Little Penguins are a great natural asset but are in danger from their own popularity!
