Hi all,

just back from a few days in the Lake Cargelligo area. Highlights were two
Red-lored Whistlers singing in the NW section of the wheat field on the
mornings of the 21st and 22nd but unfortunatly were not seen. Also on the 21st,
4 Painted Snipe were seen along the Condobolin road in a small muddy pool just
past the road to the sewerage treatment plant. Also in this pool were 40+
Baillon's Crakes and 30+ Spotted Crakes.

Other birds of note inlclude Black Honeyeater, White-fronted Honeyeater,
Crimson Chat, Black-tailed Native, Spotted Nightjar, 200+ White-browed and
Masked Woodswallows in roughly equal numbers, Chestnut Quail-thrush, Southern
Scrub-robin, Shy Heathwren, Gilbert's Whistler and 4 Barn Owl's on the road to
Lake Cargelligo from west Wyalong.

Cheers,

Rob
