Hi all, Spent yesterday with Robert Griffin at various wet places round Newcastle. Lots of waterbirds and birds of prey. We ended up at Stockton in the late afternoon and watched the waders come in the hour or so before high tide: Caspian Tern 1 Crested Tern 3 Gull-billed Tern 10 Red-Necked Avocet 200-300 Eastern Curlew >200 Whimbrel 4 Bar-tailed Godwit >200 Black-tailed Godwit 5 (very distinctive and associated not with the Bar-taileds but with the avocet) Curlew Sandpipers 14 Red Knot 2 A great day with Black-tailed Godwit the highlight. Cheers, Graham Buchan PEREGRYNE CONSULTING a Reducing real risk =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
