Hi Fiona

Last time I looked for this bird in June last year, I found a few individuals
near the junction of Dalrymple Rd with Snake Rd - you won't need 4WD either.
You go to the township of Eungella & then turn right (north) into Dalrymple Rd.
Snake Rd turns left (west) off this rd about 10kms further on - it's a while
ago, so it could be 15kms, but it did have a signpost when last there...

I had them from just near this intersection about 100mtrs up Snake Rd to about
400mtrs further up & they were getting into the mistletoe.

Just listen for their strange calls & you should get them if they are there...
I was there from 7am til 10am. Their call to me at least, is like a
high-pitched Bridled HE with a bit of Drongo/Rufous Fantail/Willie Wagtail
thrown in !! It's a pretty strange sound... you should also get great looks at
Regent Bowerbirds in that spot too, or just a bit further along Snake Rd - I
had a very nice male there last year & I hope he's still hanging there for you.

Good luck & cheers
