Hi Nikolas, 
yes it is a Barn Owl, as stated in the paragraph that you refer to....
"The species in fact is more common in this area than the Barn Owl -
picture attached". All of your id features were spot on.
 
Doesn't hurt to query though :-) I have seen many a professional
website with wrong birds labeled and have in fact had students submit
wetlands dioramas for assessment with pictures of Jabiru that were not
Australian Black-necked Storks.......

Hi Greg,

I think you attached the wrong photo. The bird on the photo of your
Eastern GRASS Owl paragraph looks like an Eastern BARN Owl to me: it is
too short-legged, too white and too big-eyed for an Eastern Grass Owl.
