Over the recent long weekend at Bowra I had the luck to see a painted button-quail. Checking the field guides (Pizzey, Slater, Morcombe and Simpson-Day) on button-quails is confusing experience - plates are completely different between the guides. Can anyone help with some tips for IDing the button-quails?
