A motley bunch of dogs is at the forefront of a new push to eradicate rabbits, mice and rats from Macquarie Island. The dogs have been trained to sniff out rabbits. Four types of penguin, four albatrosses, Great Skuas, Kelp Gulls, Antarctic Terns and the Macquarie Island Cormorant all breed on the island. 7.30 segment features terrific footage. http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/2011/s3218459.htm =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
